Mum went shopping.
妈妈 去买东西。
She took the children.
她带上了孩子们。
Who are they?
They are Biff, Chip, Kipper and a girl with black hair.
那个黑色头发的女孩子是谁呢？
我们好像第一次看到，她也是邻居，叫作 Aneena，
是 Kipper 一家的好朋友，特别喜欢音乐。
以后的故事里，我们经常可以见到她。
Mum and Kids were going to the supermarket.
我们看下后面的牌子上写着
Savedo Supermarket。

孩子们 往上看。
What did they see?
他们看到什么了呢？
There was an elephant on the roof.
有一头大象在屋顶上。
The elephant looked funny.
The elephant was fat.
大象看上去很 滑稽。
大象很胖。
大象的身上还写着一些字

carpet 地毯
超市隔壁 ，卖地毯的店里正在搞促销呢！

The children laughed.
孩子们 大笑 了起来。
" Look at that fat elephant，" they said.
“ 看那只胖胖的大象呀，” 他们说。
" An elephant？" said Mum：" Don’t be silly. "
“ 一只大象？” 妈妈说：“别傻了。”
Why did Mum say "Don't be silly"?
妈妈可能是在想，
An elephant can't be on the roof.

What's wrong？
There was a storm.
The wind blew.
暴风雨来了。
风吹啊吹啊。
It rained and rained.
雨下呀下呀。
Mum ran to the car quickly.
The kids followed.
妈妈提着购物袋快速的跑向车子。
孩子们跟在了后面。

Why did the elephant blow away?
为什么大象会被吹走呢？
It was a bad storm.
bad 是 “坏的” 意思，这里是 “恶劣的” 意思。
那是一场 恶劣的暴风雨。
The wind was strong.
风力 很强。
It blew the elephant away.
是这强烈的大风，它把大象 吹走了。
and it was not a real elephant.
It was an inflatable toy.
而且啊，这不是一只真的大象，
这是一个充气玩具。

There was no storm.
暴风雨也停了。
The elephant was in the playground.
playground 是由2个词组成的，
play 玩 ground 地上，玩的地方，那就是操场。
那只大象在 操场 上。
The children laughed.
孩子们笑了。
Why did they laugh？
Because，it was funny.

" An elephant？" said Mrs May.

They wanted it to stay.
他们希望它能留下来。
Do you like the fat elephant？
Yes，I do. but...
你喜欢这只胖嘟嘟的大象吗？
是的我很喜欢，但是...
" Sorry, "Said the man, " We want it back. "
“对不起！”一个男人说：“我们得把它拿回去。”
那么大只大象，怎么带回去呢？
叔叔把气阀打开，把大象里的气给放掉。
They send out the air in the fat elephant.

" Look at the fat elephant, " said Biff.
“看那只胖大象呀，” Biff 说。
" It’s a flat elephant now, " said Wilma.
“现在它是一头扁大象，” Wilma说。
So，Why did the elephant become flat?
Because，there was no air inside.
那么，为什么它会变成一只扁大象呢？
因为叔叔们把它的气都放走了。
Where do you think the men will take the elephant?
Maybe they will put it on the roof of the carpet warehouse.
你觉得叔叔们会把这只扁大象带到哪里去呢？
也许，它会被放回老地方，就是那个 “地毯仓库” 的屋顶上吧。
