错落的68级瀑布和跌水，实属全国罕见。千姿百态的瀑布跌水竞领风骚，争奇斗妍，构成风情万种的动态水景，令游客目不暇接，沿河谷伴梯级瀑布而上，一路但见高山流水、绿树红花，但闻泉鸣瀑响、鸟啾虫吟，更觉眼前诗意盎然，美不胜收，遂为文人墨客冠以“知音谷”的雅号。

茂兰的喀斯特景观有着“山水贵族”之美誉，是我国中亚热带喀斯特地貌原生森林保存最好的一块宝地。这里有被称为活化石的银杏、鹅掌楸等多种珍稀树种。还有林麝、猕猴、香獐、华南虎等许多古老的野生动物。除了山野美景，尧古村寨和布依族村寨、拉桥水寨散落其间，能体验到纯正的少数民族风俗和表演。
